Kids Sewing Class & Camp FAQs
Age Group:
Suitable for children aged 5 and above. Courses are adjusted based on age and skill level.
Activities:
Projects include stuffed animals, toys, bags, and clothing. Both machine and hand sewing techniques will be taught.
Safety:
All activities are supervised by instructors. We use high-end, slow-speed desktop sewing machines, such as the Baby Lock Jubilant, for students.
Tools and Materials:
Provided by us; no need for parents to purchase additional items.
Fabric:
We use stretch fabrics for clothing projects, which may limit the styles we can create. If you have more suitable fabric, you are welcome to bring your own for the class.
Times and Location:
Classes are held on weekends and after school at 8580 Cambie Rd., Unit 105, Richmond, BC V6X 4J8. Search "Winnie Sewing Studio" on Google Maps or iPhone Maps.
Missed Classes:
Up to two make-up classes per semester are allowed. No additional make-up classes or refunds beyond that.
Cost:
- 75-minute classes: 30 CAD each.
- Clothing-making classes: 90 minutes, 40 CAD per session.
- Drop-in classes: Additional charge of 5 CAD.
- 5% GST applies.
Discount: A 5% sibling discount will be applied automatically at checkout.
Trial Classes:
No free trial classes. Single class drop-ins are available. Parents can visit the studio to see the environment.
Registration:
Available on our website or by contacting us directly.
Deadline:
Registration is open as long as online slots are available. If marked "sold out," spots are full or registration is closed.
Parental Observation:
Not allowed during class to maintain order and concentration. Progress can be discussed with instructors afterward.
Experience Required:
No prior sewing experience needed.
Class/Camp Start Date Reminder:
No reminders are provided. Please remember your registration date. No refunds or rescheduling for missed sessions or camp.
Sewing Camp Information
Project Repetition:
If a child enrolls in two or more weeks of camp, they will not repeat the same projects. We offer a variety of projects with different levels of difficulty, so each week will feature new and different projects.
Discounts for spring camp, summer camp and winter camp
5% OFF discount for Early bird, repeat customer, and sibling discounts are available. Please contact us to check eligibility for any discounts.
Discount for Pro-D Day camp : Register for two camp days or for two people and receive a 5% discount. Register for three camp days or for three people and get a 10% discount. Register for four camp days or four people and enjoy a 15% discount. The discount is applied automatically at checkout.
Full Week Registration:
Only full-week registrations are accepted. Projects are planned to progress from simple to complex. Missed days should be made up within the camp season. No extensions or refunds after the camp ends.
